Greg Merkel is a Creative Director at ICRAVE and has been with the company since 2006. Greg has played an integral role during his tenure at the firm leading the design studio’s branding, digital experience and design work across mixed-use residential, hospitality and restaurants as well as airport projects. With an extensive portfolio of award-winning work across the globe, Greg most recently led the expansion of Sushi Samba into the Middle East, Tao Group into Asia and spearheaded strategy and design for the world's first ever e-sports complex, Complexity Gaming which is part of the Dallas Cowboys new campus in Frisco, Texas where Greg also designed the team's members club, a co-working space and more. Greg received his BA in Architectural Studies from Tufts University in 2002 and his MArch from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2005.

With the current coronavirus pandemic decimating the sporting and events calendar, traditional sports are increasingly using virtual simulations to engage with their fans, further integrating esports into the mainstream sports industry. Many existing Stadium and Arenas are also examining how they can repurpose their spaces to accommodate live esports events.

During this session a panel of industry experts will discuss how traditional sports and stadia  are now integrating esports in to their fan experiences, examining synergies and differences between them as well as sharing their opinions on how this will develop further in the future.
