
Matthew Batchelor
Director COX ArchitectureMatthew Batchelor is a Director of COX’s Perth studio and is recognised across the practice as a senior thought leader in sport and entertainment venue planning and design. Along with his portfolio of commercial, cultural and educational work, Matthew was the COX Project Lead for the 60,000 seat Perth Optus Stadium, winner of the Prix de Versailles award in 2019 for the World’s Most Beautiful Stadium. He was Project Associate for the Perth Rectangular Stadium Redevelopment and the WACA media centre and has acted as an advisor to governments and venue operators on venue planning, feasibility and business cases. He is currently working at the junction of sport, entertainment and academia on emerging typologies including Centres of Excellence and esports participation and research.
